The San Francisco Giants came off their atrocious 2017 season looking to contend. Many around the league were skeptical and most baseball pundits panned the Giants for giving up prospect assets to acquire veterans like Evan Longoria and Andrew McCutchen. Then many thought all hope was lost after a line drive broke franchise cornerstone Madison Bumgarner's throwing hand. The Bumgarner injury was the first of many blows, the team's two best remaining starters (Johnny Cueto, Jeff Samardzjia), their closer Hunter Strickland, their starting second baseman (Joe Panik), Longoria, and starting first baseman (Brandon Belt) have all missed time due to injuries. Yet, the Giants have rolled with the punches. When Bumgarner finally returned the Giants were still a .500 team and weren't far behind in what has been a crowded NL West race.

About MeI have been a die-hard fan of the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors my entire life. Following them (and the surrounding leagues) have given me a lot of strong opinions on sports. Links to some of Marc's Articles around the Web:
